Mekonen - Chief Executive OfficerMekonen – Chief Executive Officer

Mekonen has many years of experience working in welfare services and has been managing The Station Ltd. since 1998. He has qualifications in business studies, community organisation managment, mental health and drug and alcohol counselling. Most of his experience has been working with homeless people in crisis accommodation and medium term supported accommodation settings.

Graciela – Team Leader

Graciela has been working at The Station Ltd since January 2000. In her role, Graciela co-ordinates the different functions within the Centre and provides support to both staff and clients. In additon to this she has experience in working with people with mental health and drug and alcohol issues. Graciela has a certificate in general counselling, a Diploma in Sexual Health Counselling from The Australian College of Sexual Health Physicians and a Bachelor of Social Science majoring in Sociology from the University of New England.

Richard – Welfare Worker

Richard joined The Station Ltd in 2008. He has a background in accounting and experience working in crisis accommodation. Richard has completed a Certificate IV in Community Work. His role involves dealing with day to day issues and providing support to our service users to help promote a friendly, safe and welcoming environment. Richard also contributes to self care and basic needs services through encouragement and education.

Heather – Mental Health Worker

Heather has been part of the team since January 2009. Her role focuses on working with individuals who have complex needs, mental health issues and substance abuse problems; she provides case management services including support, counselling and crisis intervention. Heather has a Bachelor of Science/Psychology from Macquarie University and has complete additional training in counselling, mental health, drug and alcohol treatment, dual diagnosis and suicide intervention.

Jackie – Housing Support Worker

Jackie joined The Station Ltd in 2008. She has a Diploma in Community Welfare Work and experience working with The Spanish and Latin American Association for Social Assistance. Jackie brings to The Station Ltd experience in working with homeless people and crisis accommodation.  Jackie’s role includes; housing case management, advocacy and living skills assistance.

Hannah – Housing Support Worker

Hannah joined the Station Ltd in February 2011. She has a Bachelor of Arts Psychology/Sociology from Charles Sturt University. She has spent time working in South Africa with disadvantaged groups and uses these experiences to help her in her role at The Station Ltd. Hannah’s role includes; housing case management, advocacy and living skills assistance.
